SJFCU and Habitat for Humanity Celebrate Groundbreaking of 52nd Home

On Monday, July 20, South Jersey Federal Credit Union Chief Executive Officer Ernest Huggard and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Sulpizio attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the 52nd home built and purchased through Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity. South Jersey Federal Credit Union made a $5,000 donation toward the construction of the home, located at 306 Cleveland Avenue in Glassboro.

“South Jersey Federal Credit Union is a proud partner of Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity,” said Huggard. “The organization’s mission of helping families achieve the dream of affordable homeownership is consistent with our commitment to improving the communities we serve and to helping people reach their financial goals.” South Jersey Federal Credit Union serves on the financing agency for a number of Habitat homes in Gloucester County.

The construction and sale of the home will have positive impacts beyond the family selected to purchase the home. “Not only will this project provide a deserving family with a safe and affordable place to live, but its sale will help fund the construction of more Habitat houses in Gloucester County,” explained Sulpizio, who serves as President of the Board of Directors for Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity. “We appreciate the support of Glassboro Mayor John Wallace and the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders. We look forward to continuing our work together for the good of the community.”
