At South Jersey Federal Credit Union, we're always trying to make the most of our members' time. That's why we offer a variety of online capabilities that accomplish just that — including online account opening.

Your deposits here at South Jersey Federal Credit Union are now insured up to $500,000. This exceptional level of coverage is attained through a combination of:

  • Federal insurance provided by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) and
  • Private insurance made available to SJFCU members by the Excess Share Insurance (ESI) Corporation.

Who Can Join?

Members of approved employee groups and communities are eligible for membership.

Members' spouse, children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, and siblings - in addition to other, non-relative household members, may join as well. Retirees and their families from eligible groups also qualify for membership.

In addition to employer-based eligibility, SJFCU is able to make credit union membership available to a number of different communities.

Anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school or regularly does business in the following communities qualifies for credit union membership:

  • The City of Alloway
  • The City of Atlantic City
  • The City of Bridgeton
  • The City of Camden
  • The City of Commercial
  • The City of Fairfield
  • The City of Fairton
  • The City of Glassboro
  • The City of Mannington
  • The City of Millville
  • The City of Pleasantville
  • The City of Salem
  • The City of Vineland
  • The City of Quinton

Once your accounts are opened, you and your family may remain active members for life, no matter where you later live or work. And as a credit union member, unlike at banks, that means that you have to say in everything we do as an institution. Even if you leave the employer that qualified you for membership, you'll be entitled to the same membership benefits as other members

How To Join

Eligible and ready to join? Complete the online application above and pay a one-time membership enrollment fee of $10, plus your opening  Regular Savings deposit of at least $25.

Once your application for membership is approved, you will be eligible to take advantage of additional benefits of membership!

How Does Your Employer Join?

Not seeing your employer on our list of eligible employer groups? We keep it simple for your organization to become a member of the South Jersey Federal Credit Union... AT NO COST!

An authorized representative of your company or association need only submit a letter on company letterhead requesting membership.

The letter should include:

  • Date
  • Number of Employees
  • Number of Locations
  • Employee Type/Descriptions (i.e. clerical, production, professional, etc.)
  • Statement of organization and employee's official request to for credit union membership
  • Proximity of business to the credit union's nearest branch
  • Signature, name and title of authorized representative
  • (If the organization is an association) A copy of the charter and/or bylaws

Once we receive your company's request for membership, it will be reviewed and approved by our Board of Directors and the NCUA. The Board meets once a month, so once approved employees can begin enjoying the benefits of membership right away.
